Panama City, Panama – January 2026– On 17 and 18 January, the Basilica of Don Bosco hosted the Salesian Youth Festival 2026 (SYF), a joyful event that brought together youth groups from the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), young people from the Salesian Youth Catechesis programme and guests, on the feast of St John Bosco, father and teacher of young people. For two days, the church and its spaces were filled with energy, faith and fraternity, reflecting the Salesian spirit that inspires young people. On the first day, introductory and group activities fostered integration, as well as a central educational discourse. One of the most significant moments was the visit to the Basilica and the Don Bosco Museum, which allowed participants to deepen their understanding of Salesian history and spirituality. The afternoon continued with activities in the courtyard, including games and moments of prayer. Sunday, 18 January, called ‘Sunday of Hope,’ included a round table discussion in which the young people of the SYM shared the impact of the movement on their lives. This was followed by the celebration of the Eucharist with the participation of the young people, followed by a Campo Bosco-style gathering.
