Zambia – A new education centre for young people in the ZMB Province

(ANS – Lusaka) – The Salesian community of the Sacred Heart at Makeni, in the ZMB Province, celebrated a moment of joy and thanksgiving with the opening ceremony and blessing of the Don Bosco Higher Institute, a new centre dedicated to the education and accompaniment of young people in the ZMB Province and throughout the area. Presiding over the event were the Councillor for the East and Southern Africa Region, Fr Innocent Bizimana, and the Superior of the ZMB Province, Fr Michael Mbandama, who expressed their deep gratitude to all those who made this dream possible, especially the benefactors whose generosity continues to support the Salesian mission. In his speech, Fr Mbandama thanked Fr Bizimana for his dedication and guidance, entrusting the future of the centre to God’s Providence. ‘Let us pray that this may truly be a centre of formation and hope for young people,’ said the Superior, emphasising the Salesian commitment to cultivating not only skills and knowledge, but also faith, values and dignity among young people. The meeting was also an invitation to pray for benefactors, past and present, who often support the mission behind the scenes.
