(ANS – Gabutu) – In a spirit of solidarity with families displaced and struggling at 2 Mile, the community of Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu, carried out a second round of Lenten giving on February 18, following the Ash Wednesday Mass. Embracing the pillars of Lent—prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—students and staff responded generously, choosing to offer their support quietly and without recognition. The collected offerings were brought to affected families as a simple yet meaningful gesture of compassion and fraternity. Rooted in the Gospel call to give in secret and seek God’s reward rather than human praise (cf. Mt 6:3), the initiative became a living witness of Christian charity. Through this act of kindness, the school community reaffirmed its commitment to stand with those who suffer, allowing this Lenten season to deepen its compassion, faith, and trust in God’s providence.
