(ANS – Vienna) – 17 young volunteers have successfully completed the autumn preparatory course and will begin their international assignments this year, some very soon, most in the summer. With VOLONTARIAT bewegt, an initiative of the Salesians of Don Bosco of the Austrian Province (AUS) and Jugend Eine Welt, they will be involved in educational and social projects around the world to support children and young people and help them gain new perspectives. Intercultural exchange not only strengthens their personal development, but also promotes solidarity, understanding and global cohesion – values that are more important than ever in an increasingly divided world. For 17 young Austrians, 2026 will bring a very special journey. After successful preparation, these young adults will travel to Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. ‘Working abroad is inspiring, broadens one’s perspective on different realities and strengthens important skills for the future. Young people take on responsibility and grow not only through their tasks, but also as individuals,’ explains Linda Proidl, Managing Director of the VOLONTARIAT bewegt association.
