(ANS – AET) – On 2 March 2026, the Principals of Salesian Schools in the Africa Ethiopia-Eritrea (AET) Vice-Province held a virtual meeting via Google Meet. Fr Ignacio Lavanture, AET Superior, appreciated the online format and encouraged the continued use of digital platforms for formation. A document on child protection was discussed, which will be sent to the communities for presentation to all involved and their signature. The meeting emphasised the need to strengthen the Salesian identity in the 8 primary and 7 secondary schools of the AET Province, making Don Bosco’s Preventive System clearly visible. Ongoing formation in Salesian pedagogy was encouraged, especially in places where it is weak and where afternoon classes are lacking. The feast of Don Bosco was reviewed, with suggestions for better organisation in the future. For 2026, the AET Vice-Province has set the following priorities: supporting poor students through scholarships, training teachers in inclusive education, and educating young people in human dignity, the dignity of work, civic responsibility, and care for our common home in the spirit of Laudato Si’.
