(ANS – Port Moresby) – On Saturday, 7 March 2026, another annual cycle of Media Education Seminars began, part of the Animation Programme for Teachers, involving seven teachers from six Catholic institutions in the territory. The programme was coordinated and organised by Fr Ambrose Pereira, SDB, and his group of volunteer facilitators. Emphasising the theme ‘Voices and Faces,’ taken from the Holy Father’s message for World Communications Day, ‘Safeguarding human voices and faces’ in the age of AI, Fr. Pereira stressed the need to identify the effects of digital addiction among students and the importance of prioritising human relationships. This was followed by two practical sessions that provided participants with the skills to accompany and guide their students in expressing their creativity and making positive use of digital media for themselves and their respective institutions.
