(ANS – São Paulo) – On 17 March, the National Council of Salesian Past Pupils of Brazil organised its first meeting of 2026, held online, bringing together representatives from various provinces across the country. The meeting marked the start of the movement’s strategic planning for the new annual cycle, focusing on integration, formation and the strengthening of the national presence of the Salesian Past Pupils. The opening included a formation session led by Fr Rafael Galvão, National Delegate, centred on the 2026 Strenna of the Rector Major, Fr Fabio Attard: “Do whatever he tells you. Believers, free to serve”. This year’s spiritual proposal invites the whole Salesian Family on a journey of active listening to the Word. One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of the new GEX (Young Salesian Past Pupils), who will join the Council as provincial councillors. The representatives then shared an overview of current activities in their respective regions. The presentations revealed different realities, but also common ground, such as the commitment to reorganisation at the local level, the involvement of new leaders and the search for greater integration between groups. At the end of the agenda, the programme for the in-person meeting of the National Council, to be held in Curitiba from 28 to 30 August 2026, was presented.
