Ecuador – Salesian project in the Northern Zone promotes sustainable development for vulnerable families thanks to international support

(ANS – Ambato) – On 23 March 2026, as part of the “Protection of rights, food sovereignty and economic empowerment for women and families in vulnerable situations” project, a significant event was held in which the Salesian commitment to sustainable development and the improvement of the quality of life of local communities was reaffirmed. The event included a visit by Lina Varón, representative of the Jóvenes y Desarrollo NGO, to the Don Bosco Farm in Ambato. During the event, a revolving fund was distributed to nine families to strengthen their productive activities. These include agriculture, tailoring, the production of sports and school shoes, handicrafts and other family businesses. This support aims to consolidate sustainable economic initiatives that enable families to generate income and improve their living conditions. This project is funded by the Community of Madrid in collaboration with Jóvenes y Desarrollo, and its main objective is to promote sustainable opportunities that strengthen the family economy, reinforce food sovereignty and contribute to the empowerment of women in vulnerable situations.
