Brazil – The “Community of Young Christians” Movement celebrates its 60th anniversary with faith and joy

(ANS – Recife) – The “Community of Young Christians” (CJC) Movement, a youth group supported by the Salesians of Don Bosco, joyfully celebrated its 60th anniversary between 17 and 19 April 2026. The programme began on Friday 17th with the welcoming of participants, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and, in the evening, a procession with the statues of Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco, followed by a Mass of thanksgiving. On Saturday 18th, following activities to foster interaction and integration among the participants, the Eucharist was presided over by Fr Francisco Inácio, SDB, Superior of the Salesians in Recife, Brazil. The day then continued with the “60 Years to Celebrate” event, to revisit the history of the movement and renew the commitment to its mission, various Oratorian activities, and the evening celebration, marked by joy and gratitude. Finally, on Sunday 19th, the Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Dayvison José de Santana, SDB, Director General of the Movement, and then the young people gathered in front of the mother church of St Joseph, from where they began the procession towards the church of St Sebastian, the place where the CJC Movement was born.
