Panama – Bosco 2026 Provincial Camp: “Young People: Free to Love, Free to Serve”

ANS – Panama) – With enthusiasm, faith and a family spirit, nearly 400 young people from the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) from the Salesian Central America (CAM) Province took part in the Bosco 2026 Provincial Camp, held from 26 to 28 April 2026 at the Centro Tiberíades in the province of Colón. Under the motto “Young People: Free to Love, Free to Serve”, the gathering established itself as a formative and spiritual experience that enabled participants from the six countries of Central America to live out Don Bosco’s charism intensely in an atmosphere of fraternity, joy and Christian commitment. The delegations were welcomed with energising and team-building activities that marked the start of a dynamic programme, comprising formation sessions, moments of sharing, group activities and times of prayer. During the retreat, the young people explored themes inspired by the Rector Major’s 2026 Strenna, reflecting on freedom understood through love and service, and strengthening coexistence among the region’s diverse cultures and realities. The retreat concluded with the Eucharist presided over by Fr Julio Navarro, CAM Provincial, who encouraged the young people to become shepherds for other young people, inviting them to reach out to their peers and bring them closer to Christ, by authentically living out the call to love and service.
