(ANS) – A pastoral visit to the Salesian communities in Ukraine, led by the Delegate for Youth Ministry in the Krakow, Poland (PLS) Province, Fr Franciszek Janyga, and the representative of the Provincial Council for Youth, Michał Rekiel took place from 21 to 26 April 2026. It was an opportunity to learn about the work of the Salesians in the four communities: Bóbrka, Przemyślany, Żytomierz and Korosteszów. Fr Janyga and Rekiel met with Salesians and young people, and had the chance to gain a close-up understanding of their current situation, seeking to find the best solutions to their problems. Between meetings, there was also an opportunity to learn about the Salesian work of the Greek Catholic Salesians, who run the Youth Educational Centre in Lviv, and to visit Kyiv, to gain a better understanding of the current situation of the country’s inhabitants, who are victims of Russian military aggression.
