(ANS – Addis Ababa) – A meeting of Rectors and Economers took place on 13 and 14 May 2026 at the headquarters of the Salesian Vice-Province of Africa Ethiopia-Eritrea (AET) for moments of reflection, evaluation, formation and planning. The first day began with a Lectio Divina focusing on participation and shared responsibility, followed by sessions to evaluate priorities for the 2025–2026 biennium and the presentation of the new Ratio for formation. In the afternoon, the participants engaged in an in-depth study of the Rector Major’s letter following the Extraordinary Visitation by Fr Innocent Bizimana, Regional Councillor for East and Southern Africa, which took place from 20 September to 20 November 2025, encouraging reflection on the Salesian mission, leadership and community life. The second day began with Holy Mass, morning prayer and meditation, emphasising the spiritual dimension of the meeting. Discussions then focused on the self-sustainability plan, highlighting the importance of responsible management and the long-term development of Salesian works. The concluding session provided an opportunity to share best practices and challenges regarding animation and governance among the communities.
