(ANS – Goma) – The Don Bosco Technical and Industrial Institute in Goma (ITIG) celebrated the feast of Mary Help of Christians with joy on Saturday 23 May 2026. Characterised by communion, gratitude and hope, this day brought together students, parents, educators, former pupils and friends of the Salesian work around the one whom Don Bosco called “Mary Help of Christians”. The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Fr Matthias Amani, SDB, was the central moment of the event, featuring an intense time of prayer and renewal of Marian devotion. The celebration was also attended by Fr Matthias Amani, Rector of the Community and Academic Prefect of ITIG, and Fr Delphin Muhindo, head of school pastoral care. During Mass, forty students received the sacrament of First Communion, thus taking an important step in their Christian journey. The ITIG Don Bosco Past Pupils committee was blessed and officially installed for a three-year term. In the same spirit, the final-year students of the 2025–2026 cohort were welcomed into the wider past pupils family before receiving a special blessing for the continuation of their academic, professional and personal journeys. In addition to the spiritual aspect, the celebration continued in a convivial atmosphere with various sporting and cultural activities.
