Peru – The Peruvian Province is preparing to mark one of the most significant celebrations in its annual calendar

(ANS – Lima) – Next Saturday, 11 July 2026, the Salesian St Rose of Lima Province will mark one of the most significant celebrations in its annual calendar: the Feast of Gratitude to the Provincial, a gathering that will bring together in Lima all the Salesians of Don Bosco – priests and Salesian Brothers – from Peru, as well as the entire Salesian Family, to express, in an atmosphere of fraternity, communion and joy, their gratitude for the shared mission in the service of young people. The day will begin in the morning with the celebration of Holy Mass at the Salesian Coliseum in Breña, presided over by the Provincial, Fr Juan Pablo Alcas Michilot, in a family-like atmosphere inspired by the spirit of St John Bosco. Every year, this gathering serves as a visible sign of the unity that animates Salesian life and strengthens the commitment to evangelisation throughout the country. The celebration will also include a special occasion for thanksgiving, with a tribute to several Salesians who are marking important anniversaries this year. Fr Pablo Corantes, Fr Jaime Payano, Fr Fernando Posada and Fr Félix López will therefore be honoured. The Salesian Province of Peru therefore invites the whole Salesian Family – the FMA, Past Pupils, Salesian Cooperators, ADMA, educators, young people and Friends of Don Bosco – to take part in this great celebration of fraternity, to give thanks to God for the Salesian vocation, for the fidelity of so many missionaries and for the mission that continues to make Don Bosco’s dream a reality in Peru.
