India – Dimapur Province Strengthens Salesian Youth Ministry
(ANS – Dimapur) – The Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, hosted a one-day Awareness Programme on the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) on July 7, with 28 Salesians (SDBs) and 10 Salesian Sisters (FMAs) participating. Facilitated by Fr Patrick Lepcha, SDB, Youth Delegate of South Asia, and Sr Lolia Annie, FMA, the programme deepened participants’ understanding of the identity and mission of the SYM, Salesian Youth Spirituality, and the central role of the Oratory-Youth Centre in Don Bosco’s educational vision. The resource persons highlighted the four dimensions of Salesian Youth Ministry—education to faith, educational and cultural development, social experience, and vocational guidance—emphasizing the SYM’s role in empowering young people to become responsible protagonists of their growth. The programme concluded with an interactive “Way Forward” session, during which participants resolved to strengthen SYM units locally and foster greater collaboration in youth ministry across the Province.
