(ANS – Vasto) – The 2026 edition of the Salesians of Don Bosco’s Summer Camp in Vasto has come to an end with impressive numbers and plenty of smiles. For four weeks, the oratory became a hub for over 700 children and young people, from Year 1 to Year 8, who took part every afternoon in games, workshops, educational activities, moments of prayer and major challenges, all in the spirit of friendship and sharing. The initiative was made possible by 120 youth leaders and 80 adult volunteers who, together with the Salesians and educators, dedicated their time and energy to the development of the younger children. The theme of the 2026 edition, inspired by the animated film Kung Fu Panda, underpinned the educational programme, encouraging participants to live fully in the present and to rediscover the value of genuine relationships. Behind the success of the initiative lay a great deal of preparatory work, involving months of formation and joint organisation between activity leaders, families and the educational community. With the end of Estate Ragazzi, however, the activities do not stop: summer camps run by the Oratorian associations are planned, whilst ‘REPLAY – Per un’Estate Infinita’ will return from 31 August to 12 September. And that’s not all. Older participants will also have their chance to get back into the swing of things: in the coming days, the opening date for registrations and full details on how to take part in Trisport will be announced. This is the evening tournament dedicated to teenagers, young people and adults which, every year, brings the courtyard to life with football, volleyball and basketball matches, as well as the ever-popular ‘wildcard’ games, in true Salesian style.
