Peru – The Salesian Family renews its “yes” to God at the 2026 Provincial Feast
(ANS – Breña) – The Salesian Family of Peru gathered at the “Coliseo” of the St Francis de Sales Salesian College in Breña to celebrate the 2026 Provincial Feast, an event dedicated to giving thanks to God for the vocation and mission of the Salesians of Don Bosco, with special recognition of the role of the Provincial, Fr Juan Pablo Alcas. The special guest of the day was Bishop Alberto Lorenzelli, a Salesian and Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago, Chile, who had come to accompany the confreres of the Salesian Province of Peru during their retreat. The celebration began with Holy Mass, presided over by Fr Alcas together with Bishop Lorenzelli and priests from the various Salesian communities across the country. The Eucharist provided an opportunity to renew fidelity to their vocation and to reaffirm their educational commitment to the service of young people. During the day, Salesians marking significant anniversaries of their profession and ordination were also honoured, bearing witness to a ‘yes’ to God that is renewed every day. The celebrations continued with an artistic and cultural programme, organised by Salesian schools and works, which showcased local music and traditions. In concluding the gathering, the Provincial invited everyone to continue working together for young people, keeping the charism of St John Bosco alive in the educative and pastoral communities.
