(ANS – Tarnowskie Góry) – The Salesian Animators’ School (SAS) and Liturgical Courses for young people from the Wrocław Province Poland (PLO) took place at the Salesian Educational Centre in Tarnowskie Góry from 27 June to 2 July 2026.

In the invitation to this event, the organisers wrote: “If you feel you have something extra inside you… If you want to take action, lead, inspire, create and make a real difference to others… If you want to reach a level that truly transforms a person… The Salesian Animators’ School (SAS) is waiting just for you. It is not just a course. It is a place where leaders are forged, characters are shaped and lasting friendships are formed.”

Many young people who had completed Year 8 of primary school responded to this call, discovering many constructive aspects of the SAS, such as: formation that really works; practical skills that can be put into practice at the oratory, on school trips, at school and in life; a community that supports, motivates and gives strength; as well as an experience that lingers long after the course has ended.

Because the SAS is a space that teaches you how to lead a group, work with people, organise various kinds of events, lead activities, resolve conflicts and… discover yourself.

The programme over these days was very packed and included activities such as: the official opening of the gathering in the centre’s hall; introductory activities tailored to each level of the School; a course for educators; times of communal prayer, which also included adoration and, above all, daily Mass; a talk by Fr Paweł Figura, SDB; the ‘Silent Friend’ activity – an icebreaker that strengthens the spirit of community, based on kindness; group activities organised by level; a barbecue; sporting activities; evenings of sharing… And there was no shortage of joyful dancing either, during which everyone had a marvellous time.

“Every moment was filled with laughter, shared joy and that special Salesian energy that always brings us together; moments like these truly strengthen the community and remain in our hearts for a long time,” said one of those present.

Every day, regardless of whether there were talks, various activities or intensive formation work taking place, the heart of it all was the Eucharist – because Jesus must be at the centre of every activity; he must be the foundation of liturgical ministry, formation and daily life.

The SAS brought all the participants even closer together and served as a reminder of how important the community and the shared commitment of young Salesians are, in the spirit of Don Bosco, in the spirit of faith, friendship and everyday joy.

The final evening of the SAS was organised by the fourth-level participants. It was a special and peaceful evening, during which official thanks were expressed for the four years of formation, friendship, shared journey and countless positive encounters. It was also an opportunity to thank one another for the time spent together. At the end of the experience, the educators received their certificates.
