(ANS) – Following the 6th World Congress of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (SSCC), the World Council is working to establish a team of young people, which will become a permanent group responsible for promoting the Association’s activities from a youth perspective. On 15 July 2026, the team met online for the first time. The initiative arose directly from the 6th World Congress of the ASC, held last May on the theme ‘Being leaven to be fruitful’. During the Congress, young people actively participated in outreach activities and reflection sessions, demonstrating that their contribution should not be limited to the event itself, but should become a stable and co-responsible presence within the Association, making them active partners rather than passive recipients. The new team reflects the conviction, expressed in the Apostolic Life Project, that the preferential option for young people entails recognising their active participation in the Salesian mission, with their ability to contribute vision, creativity and commitment. The meeting on 15 July, attended by Borja Pérez, World Coordinator, and the world councillors who coordinate the group, enabled the initial lines of work to be defined, in the hope that this group may also serve as the seed that helps to promote wider participation by young people in the life of the Association and the Salesian Family.
