Dingli, Malta – January 2025 – From 27 to 31 December 2025, the Salesian community of Savio College, Dingli, hosted the Christmas Retreat for Salesians in initial formation and quinquennium, preached by Fr Silvio Roggia, the General Councillor for Formation. Thirteen participants from five countries—Malta, India, Ukraine, Poland and the Democratic Republic of Congo—gathered in a climate of prayer and fraternity that reflected the universality of the Salesian charism. Rooted in the Eucharist, the retreat unfolded through moments of silence, personal reflection, formative conferences and shared prayer. Drawing from Scripture, Salesian tradition and spiritual theology, Fr Silvio guided participants through profound reflections on Saint Joseph, decisive moments in Don Bosco’s life, and the call to grow as contemplatives grounded in God’s love. A special moment of dialogue with the Vocations Team further enriched the experience. The retreat proved to be a time of grace, renewing hearts and strengthening vocational commitment to live the Salesian mission with fidelity, depth and joy.
