Matunga, India – January 2026 – On January 6, 2026, the Shrine of Don Bosco’s Madonna in Matunga, Mumbai, witnessed the priestly ordination of Fr Nilesh Dodiyar, SDB, conferred by Most Rev. Malcolm Sequeira, Bishop of Amravati, through the laying on of hands and the consecratory prayer. The solemn celebration began with a prayerful procession and welcome by Fr Ashley Miranda, the Provincial, in the presence of Salesians, family members, and the faithful. The Provincial of Belgium, present at the Mass, then presented the candidate, Dn Nilesh, before the bishop for the rite of ordination. During the Eucharist, Bishop Sequeira encouraged the newly ordained priest to remain deeply rooted in his personal relationship with Christ throughout his ministry. After the rite of ordination and vesting, Fr Dodiyar joined the concelebrants at the altar and later expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who supported his vocation. The celebration concluded with his first priestly blessing, moments of felicitation, and the joyful greetings of the congregation.
