Gatchina, Russia – January 2026 – The Salesian Oratory in Gatchina does not yet have its own premises, but for this winter of 2026 it was still possible to organise the Youth Winter Camp by renting new premises. It is precisely this change of location that has earned the Oratory of Gatchina the nickname “Wandering Oratory.” From 3-7 January 37 children, 15 leaders, and Salesian Fr Andrej Porubchin gathered for their usual winter activities. The program included dancing, singing with guitar accompaniment, group work, games, and a theatrical performance inspired by Nikolai Leskov’s classic Russian Christmas story “The Unchangeable Ruble.” As is tradition, there was also a “Secret Santa” gift exchange and a closing celebration attended by parents and friends.
