Ecuador – Podcast N-Fuga: a Salesian voice is reborn in Cayambe through digital media
Cayambe, Ecuador – January 2026 – Communication has always been a fundamental pillar of the Salesian mission and today it is regaining strength in Cayambe thanks to N-Fuga, a Salesian podcast created and hosted by young people from the journalism programme of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM). These young people have decided to revive a historical experience of the institution and give it new life through digital media. N-Fuga was created as a space for youth communication that seeks to introduce people, stories and topics of interest to young people, parents and the educational community in general, responding to current realities with an accessible, dynamic and deeply Salesian style. The name N-Fuga refers to the title of a radio programme from many years ago, which was broadcast by Radio Ecos de Cayambe and left a significant mark on the community and the younger generations. For this reason, the young people of the SYM decided to relaunch it as a completely digital project, adapting it to the new languages, platforms and consumption habits of today’s young people. In this way, N-Fuga is transformed into a podcast that keeps history alive but projects it into the present and the future. The initiative becomes a clear sign of youth empowerment, where young people not only communicate but also evangelise and educate from their own reality. N-Fuga is a tool that faithfully responds to Don Bosco’s mission, using digital media to reach the community of Cayambe and the whole world with a message of faith, hope and commitment. The official launch of N-Fuga will take place on Friday 16 January 2026, via the Salesians of Cayambe’s YouTube channel.
