São Paulo, Brazil – January 2026 – At the beginning of January, as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the First Missionary Expedition of the Salesian Congregation in South America, the Salesian Province of São Paulo (BSP) sent seven missionaries to Angola to live and share the presence of the Kingdom in these lands of the African continent. In recent days, in Kwanza Norte, in the city of Dondo, crossing the Kwanza River, the group visited the villages of Maculumbi and Candanje. The missionaries, upon arriving in the villages, were welcomed with joy and unshakeable faith, in an experience of sharing between Brazil and Angola, sister nations. The missionary team, composed of three Salesians, two Salesian Cooperators and two lay women, is enthusiastic about so much humanity, faith and sharing. By listening, talking and sharing God’s salvation, the group also encounters the culture and history of the people of each territory visited. The expedition will also visit the community of Kima, where they will have a Brazilian-style lunch to thank them for their hospitality, and Fr William de Lima will celebrate Mass in the community of Cacesse 1. Afterwards, the missionaries will leave for the capital, Luanda, where they will continue their activities in the more urban community of São José de Nazaré, in the Sambizanga district.
