Tirupattur, India – January 2026 – The Salesian Province of Chennai joyfully celebrated the Province Community Day on 16 January 2026 at the Don Rua Community, Tirupattur, under the apt theme “March Ahead with God’s Grace and Strength.” The Province gathered as one family under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Don Bosco Lourdusamy sdb, Provincial, to rejoice in unity and gratitude. The celebration was further graced by the Silver Jubilee of First Profession of seven Salesians and the Silver Jubilee of Priestly Ordination of eight Salesians. The day began with a Solemn Holy Eucharist, offered in thanksgiving for God’s abiding presence and guidance in the life and mission of the Province. After the Eucharist, the Silver Jubilarians were felicitated by the Provincial and his Councillors. In his address, Fr. L. Don Bosco, Provincial thanked all the councillors and the confreres of Chennai Province for their generous commitment and invited the Province to renew its preferential option for the poor as it journeys toward its centennial year. The celebration also witnessed the release of three books by the Provincial adding intellectual and pastoral depth to the event. The books were written by Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Fr. Maria Louis and Fr. Albert Kumar. The celebration stood as a meaningful expression of fraternity, gratitude and shared mission.
