Soyapango, El Salvador – January 2026 – The Salvador del Mundo Foundation (FUSALMO) has officially received Platinum-level STEAM certification, the highest recognition awarded by the Latin American Society for Science and Technology (SOLACYT) through its ALFA STEAM programme. The award ceremony took place on 20 January at FUSALMO’s headquarters in Soyapango, in the presence of María Lourdes Vela, from EDUCARE El Salvador, who presented the official plaque to Fr Pierre M. Vitelli, SDB. Since 2019, FUSALMO has undertaken significant challenges as a pioneering foundation in STEAM education, building specialised educational spaces and implementing innovative methodologies. These efforts are reflected in the organisation of the country’s largest robotics competition, the STEAM Maker Challenge, in participation and international recognition at the FIRST Global robotics world championship and, now, in obtaining STEAM certification. FUSALMO’s journey is distinguished by its commitment to the education of girls, boys, adolescents and young people, laying the foundations for their most promising future.
