Mumbai, India – January 2026 – To address the urgent health needs of migrant and disadvantaged families, the Bosco Boys Home in Borivali, Mumbai, as part of the Suraksha Project – Migrant Desk, in collaboration with the SPARK Foundation and the NIIT Foundation, organised a free health camp, along with E-Shram, ABHA and Ayushman Bharat Card registration, on 20 January at Sai Baba Mandir, Gali No. 12, Ganpat Patil Nagar, Dahisar, providing the community with essential medical care and access to government health programmes. Ganpat Patil Nagar is a congested settlement where residents struggle daily with poor living conditions. The narrow streets remain muddy, especially in wet weather, and the lack of an adequate drainage system has created an unhygienic environment. Many families live in vulnerable conditions, with an increased risk of contracting diseases and limited access to affordable healthcare facilities. Aware of these challenges, Bosco Boys Home launched the health camp as part of the Suraksha – Migrant Desk Project, with the aim of promoting health prevention and facilitating enrolment in key government social welfare programmes. The camp aimed to reach migrant workers and daily labourers, who are often excluded from formal healthcare systems.
