Zagreb, Croatia – January 2026 – On Saturday 24 January, the feast day of the patron saint of the Society of St Francis de Sales, the Salesians, members of the Salesian Province of Croatia (CRO), celebrated Province Day. The meeting began with greetings from the Provincial, Fr Milan Ivančević, who expressed his satisfaction and joy at the presence of about fifty Salesians from Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, with representatives of students from Italy and Salesians from Croatian Catholic communities in Germany also present. Then the Rector Major’s Strenna 2026 was presented by Fr Frano Bešlić, with the screening of the video subtitled in Croatian. Next, Fr Tomislav Špiranec, a Jesuit, spoke to those present about pastoral discernment in apostolic planning in a simple and understandable way. The event concluded with the celebration of the Eucharist in the chapel of the Church of Mary Help of Christians, presided over by the Provincial, Fr Milan Ivančević, during which six young people from the Salesian Educational Community of Podsused, Zagreb,were welcomed into the Salesian prenovitiate.
