Suwałki, Poland – January 2026 – From 23 to 25 January, the city of Suwałki hosted the 30th National Salesian Youth Futsal Games (5-a-side football). The event was attended by many young players from the Salesian presences of the four Polish Salesian provinces with their coaches and volunteers. For three days, the city was the scene of sporting competition, integration and sharing of the values that have accompanied the Salesian movement for years. In addition to healthy competition and play, there was also a spiritual aspect, with moments of prayer and Eucharistic celebrations. The official opening ceremony of the Games at the Suwałki Arena was presided over by Dariusz Ułanowicz, President of SALOS RP (Salesian Sports Organisation of the Republic of Poland). The competitions were held in various sports facilities around the city and were attended by young people from 12 local ‘SALOS’ associations from all over Salesian Poland. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, Mr Łukasz Prokorym, and the Mayor of Suwałki, Mr Czesław Renkiewicz. The 30th National Salesian Youth Futsal Games, organised by the Salesians of Suwałki with the support of numerous partners and sponsors, demonstrated once again that sport can be not only a competition but also a space for education, friendship, joy and shared experience.
