Caracas, Venezuela – January 2026 – On Saturday 24 January, the Salesian Family in Caracas dressed up to honour the memory of St Francis de Sales. The communities that bear his name in the Venezuelan capital experienced a day of faith, procession and fraternal encounter. In the parish of St Francis de Sales, located in La Dolorita, the community took to the streets in a large procession that preceded the solemn Eucharist. The celebration had a special touch thanks to the presence of two bishops who are sons of Don Bosco: Archbishop Raúl Biord, Archbishop of Caracas, and Bishop Pablo González, Bishop of the Diocese of La Guaira. Both prelates emphasised the relevance of St Francis de Sales’ message of meekness and charity. Similarly, in the Sarria neighbourhood, the San Francisco de Sales College commemorated its patron saint in the María Auxiliadora parish. The celebration was presided over by the Provincial, Fr Rafael Montenegro, who emphasised the importance of educating and accompanying young people according to the Salesian charism.
