Ziway, Ethiopia – January 2026 – The closing prayer service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity was solemnly celebrated on January 22 at Mary Help of Christians Parish in Ziway, under the theme: “One body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope” (Ephesians 4:4). The program brought together religious leaders and faithful from different Christian traditions, fostering communion, prayer, and fraternity. Participants included priests and faithful from the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church of Ziway and Adami Tulu, representatives of Protestant Evangelical Churches from the same areas, and clergy and faithful from St. Stephen Catholic Church in Adami Tulu, under the Apostolic Vicariate of Meki. Representatives from the Orthodox, Protestant, and Catholic Churches offered reflections on Christian unity, brotherhood, love, and shared witness in society. The gathering concluded with the lighting of a candle as a symbol of unity, followed by the communal recitation of the Our Father.
