Haiti – Salesian Family Spirituality Day
Haiti – January 2026 – On 17 January, the 44th Salesian Family Spirituality, Haiti, was celebrated, both in person and online, on the theme of the Rector Major’s Strenna 2026, ‘Do whatever he tells you – Believers free to serve’. An intense moment of prayer, led by the Salesian Cooperators and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, opened the day coordinated by Fr Jean Robin Gédéon, SDB, Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family, and Fr David Hérode, SDB. This was followed by presentations from Sr Rose Dominique Giraud, FMA Provincial Delegate of the Salesian Family , and the FMA Provincial, Sr Altagrâce Mathias. Next, Fr Morachel Bonhomme, Superior of the Salesian Vice-Province of Haiti (HAI) and President of the Conference of Religious of Haiti (CHR), presented the Rector Major’s Strenna for 2026. After an in-depth study and reflection on the theme, a group work session was held, focusing on four themes: Listening; Freedom; Action and service; Inter-generational dialogue. This was followed by a sharing session in plenary assembly, where the reactions of all the branches of the Salesian Family present were listened to attentively.
