(ANS – Bogotá) – The Salesian Family in the Salesian Province of Bogotá, Colombia (COB) celebrated the feast of St John Bosco, Father and Founder of the Salesian Congregation, on 31 January in an atmosphere of faith, joy and communion. The celebration took place in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Carmen, in the Salesian León XIII College and in the Camarín del Carmen, bringing together religious, lay people and young people from various Salesian presences. The highlight of the day was the Eucharistic celebration, presided over by the Provincial, Fr Rubén Darío Jaramillo, who emphasised Don Bosco’s love for young people and the relevance of his educational and pastoral charism today. The Eucharist was accompanied by the Valdocco Symphonic Band, composed of young people from the Salesian Presence in El Porvenir, and included the presentation of Don Bosco’s relics, preserved by the Province’s Salesian Cultural Centre. This was followed by cultural and artistic events that reflected the active participation of young people and the vitality of the Salesian charism.
