(ANS – Daejeon) – On 24 January 2026, the feast of St Francis de Sales, the first profession of Francisco Kim Jong-woo was celebrated at the Salesian novitiate in Jeongrim dong. The Mass was presided over by Fr Marcello Baek Kwang hyun, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Korea (KOR), who emphasised the young religious’ journey of discernment and his generous response to God’s call. The moment of profession was marked by Kim’s simple and profound response: ‘Here I am, Lord,’ a sign of total self-giving in a culture marked by individualism. The celebration was attended by about 60 members of the Salesian Family, relatives, confreres, Salesian Cooperators, and children from Salesian institutions whom Salesian Brother Kim has accompanied closely. Fr Felix Wi Won seok, Novice Master, emphasised the importance of community prayer and accompaniment in the growth of a vocation.
