(ANS – Port Moresby) – The Don Bosco Technical School in Gabutu inaugurated the 2026 academic year with the celebration of the Feast of St John Bosco, marked by a solemn Mass of the Holy Spirit. The Eucharist also coincided with the installation of the Rector, Fr Ambrose Pereira. The Mass was presided over by Fr Gregorio Bicomong Jr., Superior of the “Blessed Philip Rinaldi” Vice province of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, in the presence of the Salesian community, the Missionaries of Mary Help of Christians, staff and students. After the litany of the saints, Fr Ambrose Pereira was formally installed as Rector. The celebration ended in a spirit of joy and fraternity, marking a hopeful start to the new academic year.
