(ANS – Sihanoukville) – From 8 to 14 February 2026, Don Bosco Sihanoukville, Cambodia, is hosting the EAO Missionary Quinquennium 2026, bringing together Salesian missionaries from across the East Asia–Oceania (EAO) Region for a week of formation, reflection, and missionary renewal. The Quinquennium offers participants a structured program focused on pastoral discernment in mission, combining moments of prayer, silence, meditation, group sharing, and guided input sessions. These activities aim to help missionaries reflect deeply on their vocation, missionary identity, and service to young people, especially the poorest and most vulnerable. One of the key figures accompanying the encounter is Fr. Jorge Mario Crisafulli, SDB – General Councillor for the Missions, whose presence and guidance provide valuable orientation and encouragement throughout the Quinquennium. His contributions highlight the importance of renewing missionary zeal and remaining faithful to the Salesian charism in today’s diverse cultural contexts. The program also includes moments of community life and dialogue, fostering fraternity and mutual enrichment among the participants. After the opening sessions, participants engaged in guided moments of silence and meditation, as well as group discussions that allowed them to share experiences, challenges, and hopes related to their missionary journey. A significant and symbolic moment of the encounter was the warm welcome offered by the students of Don Bosco Technical & Hotel School in Sihanoukville, whose joyful songs and hospitality expressed the Salesian spirit of family, youthfulness, and communion between missionaries and young people. The EAO Missionary Quinquennium 2026 stands as an important opportunity for renewal and discernment for Salesian missionaries in the region, strengthening their commitment to walk together in mission and to continue serving young people with hope, dedication, and a renewed missionary spirit.
