Argentina – Oratory in Mission: Salesian summer in Formosa
(ANS – Formosa) – A new edition of the Oratory in Mission (OEM) took place in five neighbourhoods of the city of Formosa, bringing together more than 100 leaders and over 400 children and young people. The OEM combined formation days for leaders, mission days, and games in the neighbourhoods. There were also spaces that helped to strengthen the family spirit and sense of belonging. None of this would have been possible without the accompaniment and support of the communities, together with the collaboration of the Salesian Family groups, in particular the Salesian Cooperators and ADMA. One of the leaders, Malena, shared her emotions: ‘Returning to the neighbourhood, seeing every child with a look full of history and a smile that is provoked by simple things, is priceless.’ She also emphasised, ‘At the Oratory in Mission, I realised that God’s love is not always found in big things, but in sincere hugs, simple laughter and a heart willing to say “yes”.’ At the end of the days, Malena said, ‘I leave with a full heart, knowing that it was not I who gave, but that I received much more than I could have imagined. God reminded me once again that serving also means allowing oneself to be loved.’
