(ANS – Quito) – From 8 to 21 February, a special edition of the Intensive Course on Salesianity is being held at the Salesian Centre for Permanent Formation in America (CSFPA), attended by 34 leaders from the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador. This formation experience is designed specifically for those who have the responsibility of animating, guiding and strengthening the Salesian educational mission in the university setting. The Intensive Course on Salesianity is a synthesis of the three levels of formation in Salesianity and is presented as an introduction to the systematic study of the charism. During these two weeks, the leaders are deepening their knowledge of Don Bosco, his historical context, the development of his work and the foundations of his pedagogy and spirituality, which continue to illuminate Salesian educational activity today. The central objective of the course is to foster a fundamental and formative encounter with Don Bosco, his life, his work and his spirituality, through the historical-critical-experiential method. This involves combining rigorous study of the sources with personal and community experience of the charism. Participants integrate spaces for academic reflection, dialogue, study, prayer and fraternal coexistence, in a dynamic that seeks to charismatically renew their service as leaders. For UPS, this participation represents a significant step in consolidating a solid charismatic identity in its management teams.
