Spain – New St John Bosco Park inaugurated in Carmona
(ANS – Carmona) – On the morning of Sunday, 22 February 2026, the inauguration ceremony was held for the new St John Bosco – Children’s Park, located next to the Salesian house in Carmona. Before the ceremony, Sunday Mass was celebrated, followed by activities organised within the park by the ‘Uno Más’ Youth Centre for the children and young people who participated in the celebrations. The initiative responded to a request from the Don Bosco Past Pupils Association of the Salesian School in Carmona, which also garnered the support of numerous confraternities, associations, clubs and parishes in the city, as well as 2,000 signatures from individual citizens. Juan Ávila, mayor of the city, noted that this space, ‘due to its location and characteristics, is ideal for honouring St John Bosco and expressing gratitude for the commendable educational and social work carried out by the Salesian community in the city’. ‘We celebrated this very special event for Carmona and for the Salesian family, which has been educating generations of Carmona’s citizens in our city for 130 years,’ he added. This recognition of the Salesians’ work has inspired many people to build a better society through the education of children and young people.
