Representatives from premier hotels and major hospitality institutes met to realign curricula, internships, and retention strategies with industry realities. A demonstration of the Don Bosco Jobs Portal highlighted local recruitment solutions. Panel discussions underscored a growing concern: while graduates are technically trained, long-term commitment is weakening due to attitudinal challenges and unrealistic expectations. Participants noted that demanding work conditions and modest entry-level salaries often lead to early attrition, including migration to cruise-line jobs abroad. Internships were critically reviewed, with calls to end exploitative practices and introduce structured, dignified training models. The summit urged curriculum reforms focusing on emotional intelligence, modern culinary trends, and employability skills. Industry leaders also acknowledged the need for healthier workplace cultures, clearer growth pathways, and improved benefits to retain Gen Z talent. The summit marked a decisive step toward building a skilled, transparent, and resilient hospitality workforce in Goa.
