(ANS – Hua Hin) – On March 1, 2026, Hua Hin Vitthayalai hosted its first mini-marathon, “Run Toward 100 Years of the Salesians,” marking a historic step toward celebrating the centenary of the Salesian congregation’s arrival in Thailand in 1927. The event honored the Salesians’ long-standing mission in education, formation, and evangelization. Widely known in the community as the “Salesian School,” the institution reflects a deep bond with the people of Hua Hin built over nearly 80 years. The marathon was organized by the Parents and Teachers Association in collaboration with the Alumni Association, with strong support from school leaders and staff. Three race distances—3 km, 5 km, and 10 km—were offered, with the 3 km designed as a family run. Reverend Father Boonlert Paneetatthayasai presided over the opening ceremony. Reverend Father Pascual Chávez Villanueva awarded trophies to the 10 km champions, an English married couple. A total of 2,300 runners participated, including Thai and international athletes. The event fostered joy, unity, and community spirit. Organizers, supporters, and participants were sincerely thanked for ensuring its great success.
