India – Dr Casimir Raj, SDB, calls for greater protection of minors during International Women’s Day programme in Salem
(ANS – Salem) – Dr Casimir Raj M, Salesian of Don Bosco and member of the Tamil Nadu Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (TNCPCR), participated in an International Women’s Day programme promoting the safety and rights of women and girls at the PMSSY Conference Hall (Kannadi Maligai) at the Mohan Kumaramangalam Government Medical College Hospital in Salem. The programme, entitled ‘FULL STOP – A campaign to stop and end violence against women and girls’, brought together doctors, nurses, counsellors, social workers, university students, NGO field workers and other stakeholders to raise awareness about the prevention of violence against women and girls and the promotion of gender equality and respect for women. A round table discussion was an important part of the programme, during which experts and speakers discussed the challenges facing women and girls and the collective responsibility needed to address them. Among the speakers, Dr Casimir Raj shared his thoughts on strengthening child protection mechanisms and ensuring a safe environment for women and children.
