(ANS – Goa) – Over 450 young people from 19 Salesian houses and educational institutions in the Indian states of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra gathered for ‘Valdocco 2026’, the annual Youth Festival of the Salesian Province of Panjim, held at the Don Bosco College of Engineering in Fatorda, Goa. The day began with the Eucharist, presided over by the Vice-Provincial, Fr Banzelao Teixeira, who in his homily encouraged young people to walk with hope and trust in the Lord in every situation. The whole day focused on the theme of ecology, reflecting on the urgent environmental challenges of today. The programme included presentations and debates on climate change, groundwater depletion and waste management, led by several eminent speakers. The presentations were followed by a lively round table discussion during which participants shared reflections, concerns and ideas for responding to environmental challenges in their communities. The day continued with lunch and creative group games, creating moments of joy, teamwork and friendship. Laughter and dynamic interaction filled the campus as the young people experienced the Salesian spirit of family and unity. The celebrations ended with performances by live music groups and dancing.
