DR Congo – A weekend of spirituality organised by the Africa Congo Congo Province
(ANS – Kinshasa) – From 13 to 15 March 2026, the Youth Ministry Delegation of the Salesian Africa Congo Congo Province (ACC) organised a weekend of spirituality inspired by the Rector Major’s 2026 Strenna: “Listen to Jesus to live righteously in the school of Mary, in the footsteps of Don Bosco”. The event took place at the Our Lady of the Nativity Community, the headquarters of the ACC Province. In addition to some leaders from various ministries, the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) group consisted largely of aspirants and pre-aspirants to Salesian life. The objectives of this weekend were to deepen our understanding of and embrace the Rector Major’s 2026 Strenna as a path of conversion; and to rediscover listening to and obedience to Jesus as the heart of Christian life. To learn to discern God’s will in daily life and to renew their commitment to being missionary disciples. Interwoven with devotional practices such as the Way of the Cross, the Rosary and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the weekend was a journey into the desert for the participants during this Lenten season, to discover themselves and to understand God’s will in each of them.
