(ANS – Hyderabad) – The Salesians and lay collaborators of the Hyderabad Province gathered for the Mission Poverty Eradication (MPE) Province Team Meeting, engaging in a reflective community audit to evaluate the depth and authenticity of their outreach to the poor. Presented by Fr Sarath Parri, SDB, and Mr Pranay, the audit encouraged participants to look beyond statistics and assess how the mission is lived in daily ministry. While highlighting extensive outreach in education, skills training, pastoral care, and social development, discussions revealed a gap between measurable outputs and the deeper, often undocumented dimensions of service. Fr Tony Pellissery, SDB, noted that personal accompaniment, counselling, and silent support frequently go unrecorded, risking undervaluation. Participants also addressed challenges posed by multiple reporting systems, which can lead to fatigue and incomplete documentation. Emphasis was placed on developing a streamlined framework that captures both tangible results and transformative engagement. Guided by Ms Neha Joseph, the group identified strengths and areas needing renewed focus. The meeting concluded with a call to deepen authentic presence among the most marginalized, reaffirming commitment to a mission rooted in the spirit of Don Bosco.
