Brazil – The parish of Our Lady Help of Christians celebrates the Mass of Consecration of Families

(ANS – Ponta Grossa) – On the day of the monthly commemoration of Mary Help of Christians, 24 March, the Mass of Consecration of Families was celebrated at the parish of Our Lady Help of Christians, bringing together numerous faithful, young people and parents from the community in a profound moment of spirituality and communion. The gathering was organised by the Parish Pastoral Council and facilitated by the Community Pastoral Council of Our Lady of Glory. The celebration was presided over by the parish priest, Salesian Fr Renato dos Santos, and involvd families, the key partners in this moment of faith. The aim of this gathering was to lead families to a concrete act of entrustment to God, recognising that their lives, stories, joys and challenges are in his hands. The celebration reawakened in the participants a filial trust in the maternal protection of Mary Help of Christians, reinforcing the spirituality inherent in the Salesian tradition. During the homily, aspects of the Gospel that shed light on the meaning of consecration were explored in depth. It was emphasised that consecration is a means of strengthening family bonds, promoting forgiveness, dialogue and the experience of concrete love in daily life. In conclusion, it was emphasised that consecration does not end with the celebration, but extends into daily life, sending families out to live as witnesses of faith, hope and charity.
