(ANS – Lubumbashi) – The opening ceremony of the 51st edition of the Salesian Games took place on 28 March 2026 at the City of Youth in Lubumbashi, part of the Central Africa Province (AFC). Over 1,500 young people from Salesian works and parishes in the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi took part in the traditional event, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. The event, filled with encounters and joy and centred on Christian and social values, began with a procession starting from the Salesian centre in Bakanja-Magone and ending at the Città dei Giovani, where the Eucharistic celebration took place.
