Ecuador – Técnico Salesiano Students win Silver at National AI Olympiad
(ANS – Cuenca) – The “Técnico Salesiano” Educational Centre celebrated a remarkable success in the field of technology thanks to students specialising in computer science and software development who distinguished themselves at the National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, organised by the OIEC (European Organisation for Informatics and Engineering). After three months of intense competition, the Salesian students won three silver medals, a testament to their talent, dedication and constant commitment. The award-winning students are Jhostin Quijije, Vicente Mendieta and Paúl Juela, all in their third year of secondary school (E1). During the Olympiad, participants demonstrated their ability to tackle complex challenges by applying their knowledge of artificial intelligence, solving real-world problems and proposing innovative solutions. Each activity enabled them to develop advanced technical skills, hone their critical thinking and strengthen their teamwork — fundamental abilities for their professional development. This achievement brings prestige to the “Técnico Salesiano” and the city of Cuenca, demonstrating that its students are prepared to compete at national level in high-demand technological sectors. The recognition also highlights the high quality of the institute’s educational provision, which combines technical, academic and practical training with projects that promote creativity and the development of 21st-century skills.
