(ANS – Cartago) – The first edition of the Lego League 2026 took place on Saturday 21 March 2026 at the Cartago Sports Complex. It is Costa Rica’s largest robotics festival. In this competition the STEAM Clubhouse Sales Cartago team came third nationally in the Challenge category. This year’s theme, “UNEARTHED™”, focused on archaeology and invited participants to discover how tools, innovations and expressions from the past connect with the present and the future through the use of technology. In this context, the team presented its innovative project, “Anecdotal Soil Kinetics Record”, which integrates tools such as a seismograph, laser technology, 3D scanning, LIDAR and 3D printing. The project was displayed on a stand built from LEGO bricks and presented to a jury. During the robot competition phase, the team achieved a high score by completing various missions, thanks to the programming developed over the weeks and the strategies implemented. The competition brought together 23 teams, including leading institutions from the country, as well as delegations from Panama and Mexico. The assessment took into account both the results achieved and the development of STEAM skills, as well as the experience of values such as teamwork, inclusion, impact, fun, discovery and innovation.
