(ANS – Campo Grande) – Five years ago, the parish of St John Bosco in Campo Grande expanded the interior of the church, but this was not sufficient to accommodate the number of people who gathered on Friday 3 April 2026 to take part in the celebration of the Passion and Death of the Lord. The pastoral welcome team did their utmost to prepare the church as best they could. Entire families of parishioners were present at the celebration, presided over by Fr Luigi Favero and concelebrated by the parish priest, Fr Edson Cardoso Colman. Children, teenagers, young people and adults mingled with the multitude of the faithful who were devoutly meditating on the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ, as proposed by the Church on this Good Friday, the only day of the year on which Holy Mass is not celebrated. Parish movements and groups from the Salesian Family were also present. After the celebration in the parish church, the faithful poured into the streets of the neighbourhood for another typical Good Friday celebration, the Way of the Cross. The young people of the parish have already embraced this celebration, which has become a parish tradition. Thousands of people attended the re-enactment of the Way of the Cross, which brought realism and emotion to the faithful as they contemplated the mystery of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ.
